BYLDR is a one-person web studio. This page explains exactly what information the site collects, why it exists, who else can see it, and how to have it deleted. There is no advertising cookie and no cross-site tracking pixel on this website. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-friendly, cookieless measurement tool that counts page views and referrers without cookies and without identifying you. The only thing stored on your device is whether you chose the light or dark theme.
01Who we are
BYLDR ("BYLDR", "we", "us") is a sole-operator web design and development studio based in Sydney, Australia, trading at byldr.studio. BYLDR is responsible for the personal information described on this page — the data controller, in GDPR terms.
Questions, corrections and deletion requests all go to jarrod@byldr.studio.
02What we collect
Only what you type in, plus the standard technical logs any website generates. There are three forms on this site, and each one tells you what it wants before you fill it in.
| Where | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact form | Name, business name, email, phone (optional), and what you write about your project | So we can reply to your enquiry and quote it |
| Start from scratch | Name, email, business name, project type, and your brief | So we can scope a new build and get back to you |
| Free website audit | The website address you submit, the results of the scan, plus your name, email, phone and what you'd like improved | So we can show you the full report and an indicative rebuild cost |
Technical information
Our host records ordinary server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. These exist to deliver the site, keep it available and block abuse. We don't use them to build a profile of you, and we don't combine them with the form data above.
03The free website audit
The audit tool takes a website address, fetches that site's public homepage, robots file and sitemap, and analyses what it finds — page count, technology, SEO signals, mobile setup and so on. Two things worth being clear about:
- The URL you submit is sent to Google. To measure real-world speed and accessibility we call Google's PageSpeed Insights API with the address you entered. That request is governed by Google's privacy policy. No personal details of yours are included in it.
- Only submit sites you own or have permission to test. The scan reads publicly available pages, the same as any visitor or search engine, but the responsibility for what you point it at is yours.
You can run a scan and read the score without giving us any personal details. Your name and email are only requested at the point where you ask to unlock the full rebuild scope and estimate — and that's your choice to make.
04How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and have a conversation about your project
- To prepare quotes, audits, scopes and proposals
- To deliver work you've engaged us for, and to support it afterwards
- To keep records we're required to keep — invoices, agreements, tax records
- To keep the site secure and working
We don't send marketing emails to people who haven't asked for them, and we don't sell, rent or trade your information to anyone. If that ever changes, this page changes first and you'd be asked to opt in.
If you are in the UK or EU: our lawful bases are your consent (when you submit a form), our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and securing the site, and legal obligation for financial records.
05Who else can see it
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf. We don't give your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.
| Provider | What they handle | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Website hosting, form submissions, and the serverless function that runs the audit scan | USA / global CDN |
| PageSpeed Insights API — receives the website address you submit to the audit tool | USA | |
| Google Fonts | Serves the typefaces this site uses; your browser requests them directly | USA |
| Email provider | Delivers and stores our email correspondence with you | USA / Australia |
Some of these providers are outside Australia, which means your information may be stored or processed overseas. We only use established providers with their own published privacy commitments.
06Social platforms and advertising
If you contact BYLDR through Instagram, Facebook or another social platform, that conversation happens on that platform and is governed by their privacy policy as well as this one. We can see what any business account can see — your profile name, your messages and your interactions with our posts.
Advertising tools: at the time of writing, this website carries no advertising pixel, no Meta Pixel and no conversion tracking. If we later run advertising and add measurement tools — including Meta's Pixel or Conversions API — we will update this page to say exactly what is collected and shared before turning it on.
07Cookies and local storage
This site sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. The one thing it stores in your browser is a preference:
byldr-theme — remembers whether you chose the light or dark version of
the site. It holds the word "light" or "dark", nothing else. It never leaves your device and it isn't
sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
08How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become projects — kept while the conversation is live, then deleted within 24 months.
- Audit submissions — kept while we're discussing the rebuild, then deleted within 24 months.
- Client records — kept for the life of the engagement and then for the period Australian tax and business law requires, generally seven years for financial records.
- Server logs — retained by our host on their own short rolling schedule.
Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we're legally required to keep it.
09Your rights
Whatever country you're in, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete it
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
Email jarrod@byldr.studio and we'll respond within 30 days. There's no charge, and you don't have to explain why.
If you're in Australia and you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you're in the UK or EU, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
10Deleting your data
There's a dedicated page with step-by-step instructions: byldr.studio/data-deletion. The short version — email jarrod@byldr.studio with the word "delete" and the email address or website you used, and everything we hold on you is removed within 30 days.
11Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions travel encrypted and are stored behind authentication with our host. The audit function blocks attempts to point it at private or internal network addresses. No system is perfect, but we don't collect sensitive categories of data — no payment details are taken through this website, and no health, financial or identity documents.
12Children
This is a business-to-business studio site. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
13Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the "last updated" date at the top changes and the new version appears here. Material changes to what we collect or who we share it with will be made before the change takes effect, not after.
